On Monday Prophet Shepherd Bushiri who is the President and Founder of Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) launched the first ever bursary scheme in Malawi that will target 5,000 underprivileged students in secondary schools but also public and private institutions of higher learning across the country.
During the launch in Lilongwe City, the Prophet said that he was overwhelmed with the large number of requests his office was receiving and he thought it wise to launch the bursary scheme.
According to Bushiri, this is not a loan and it will be totally a free bursary but the beneficiaries are encouraged that once they start working in future to replicate the favor to other less privileged students.
On submitting the application via email, the applicants will have to state why they want the bursary, the amount of fees required per term or semester, provide a national Identification card but also provide details and names of their parents or guardian and also names and contacts of their headteacher or registrar of their institutions.
The Prophet further stated that for the secondary school students, they will start benefiting from next term because the current one is already towards the end while the university students can immediately access the bursary.
After sending the application, the Shepherd Bushiri Foundation (SBF) team will release names of those that will further be authenticated to be considered for the bursary.
