Elangeni Community Based Organisation (ECBO) a youth-led organisation from the Northern Region of Malawi, Mzimba district in partnership with Parent and Child Health Initiative (PACHI) launched a communication awareness campaign on the 22nd of October 2022. The event took place at Elangeni full primary school grounds.
According to the Executive Director of Elangeni CBO, Mr. Yollam Oscar Ngwira this campaign aims to sensitize the communities about the negative impacts of gender-based violence towards the girl child and also advocate with the communities on how best they can work together to eliminate the vice-in-order to reduce cases of early marriages that are greatly contributing to school dropouts among the girl child in the project areas.
The campaign is dubbed ‘Ufulu Wathu Maphunziro Athu (Our Rights My Education)’ and here are some of the pictures (Courtesy of Yollam Ngwira) at the event:
