Marriage Crises

Marriage is an institution whereby two persons (male and female) agree to be joined together as husband and wife in a solemnization contract. It is supported by religions, traditions and all established governments. The main objective of marriage is to live together, share sexual emotions, birth children and live in harmony and peace.

Humans have really benefited from marriage through:

• sharing of sexual desire
• having a partner to serve as a means of support
• reducing crimes such as rape
• putting human trafficking under control
• continuance in human existence

Marriage remains a dream and many desire to sign the marital contract with a good partner to enjoy the rest of their lives’ with however, the narrative is contrary to marriage victims who have suffered heartbreaks, maltreatment, abuse, abandonment, divorce or sadly chaos leading to unexpected death of a partner.

Survivors suffer heartbreaks and many may not recover from the breakdown for a very long time. It makes it difficult for them to trust again. An anonymous victim confessed a bad marriage is “worse than HELL”.

As romantic as marriage may look, ugly experiences have forced lots of people to decide never to get married again (again) and preferred to live alone.
