On Friday August 18, 2023Malawi commemorated the main event of the International Youth Day at Mzuzu Stadium in Mzuzu City, Northern of Malawi under the theme ‘Green Skills For Youth Towards A Sustainable World’ in which the Vice President of the Republic of Malawi Dr. Saulos Klaus Chilima was the guest of honour.
Activities for the celebrations started in the morning hours of Thursday and later on the same day there was a public lecture on ‘Addressing The Systematic And Social Economic Barrier’s For Youth Participation In Emerging Changing Green Sectors’ by the Mzuzu University Vice Chancellor,Professor Wells Singini and this day is a very big platform for the young people to showcase their talents,share ideas and opportunities,connect but also discuss issues affecting the ordinarily youths.
Apart from the Vice President, several other government officials, policy makers and also representatives from various local and international organisations such as Youthwave Malawi,Plan Malawi, USAID, ZATHU and CAMFED also attended the event.
