On Sunday the Development Network for Youth Empowerment (DENEYE) which is one of leading youth led organisations in Machina district had an interface meeting with community members and youth more especially girls on issues related with SHR who are dropping out of school and then get married at an early age.
DENEYE called up the meeting with mother groups, chiefs, area development committee members, teachers and also religious leaders on how to eradicate the malpractices in their respective communities.
The main aim of this initiative is to ensure that adolescents girls are safe from harmful cultural practices that affect girls to concentrate on their studies and in so doing encouraging them to use family planning methods for them to fulfill their goals.
Meeting was held at senior group Chipolonga in Machinga District.
