With support from The US President’s Emergency Plan For AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), Community Forum Organisation (COFO) a leading youth-led non-profit making institution, conducted a community sensitisation campaign outreach meeting in the Area of Traditional Authority (T/A) Katunga in Chikwawa District, Southern Of Malawi.

The meeting was aimed at raising awareness amongst community members and students from the surrounding schools to discuss pressing health issues, including HIV/AIDS, Sexually Transmitted Infection (STIs) diseases, but also not forgetting the Gender-Based Violence (GBV).
According to Mr. Precious Stambuli who is the Social Media and Communications Officer for the Organisation, said that with the support from PEPFAR, COFO aims to reach a wide audience to continue its efforts of raising awareness in order to reduce but also combat cases of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and HIV/AIDS but also other related sexually transmitted diseases.

The meeting was also attended by officials from the Chikwawa District Hospital, Police and representatives from the Malawi government through the Ministry of Gender and Social Welfare office from Chikwawa District Council.
