Community dinners bring people together. On the first Wednesday of the month, up to 60 people gather at the George Burnett Leisure Centre and enjoy dinner together. The diners include community members, the homeless, socially isolated people and volunteers. Josh Serafini, who was homeless for more than 20 years, started the initiative with HOME (Hope Opportunity Mutuality Empowerment) Karawara, which is a collaboration between the City of South Perth and local service providers including Waterford Plaza, Southcare, Richmond Wellbeing, Moorditj Keila, Lifestreams Christian Church, Marr Mooditj, Personal Attributes and the Department of Housing.
