Alcaraz triumph over Zverev to lift French Open Title

Carlos Alcaraz, 21, beat German Alexander Zverev at Roland Garros to win French Open title on Sunday.

The Spaniard became the youngest man to win grand slams of all three tennis surfaces after his Wimbledon and US Open titles.

The 21-year-old humbled Zverev with 6-3, 2-6, 5-7, 6-1, 6-2 at Roland Garros to join the likes of Rafa Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Andre Agassi, Roger Federer, Jimmy Connors and Mats Wilander in legendary status.

Alcaraz promised to celebrate his French Open success by getting a tattoo of Eiffel Tower with Sunday’s date inked on his left ankle.

Hamilton misses out on the podium at Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton admitted he had one of his worst races ever after finishing fourth behind Mercedes team-mate George Russell in the Canadian Grand Prix.

The seven-time world champion had confidence in his car to win him the tittle but admitted of giving it away at his 341st race, opening way for Russell to race pass him on the closing laps and snatched his first podium finish this year.

“Over the weekend, it’s a poor performance from myself, some other things came into it yesterday, mostly myself, but then today, it’s one of the worst races I’ve driven. Lots of mistakes,” said Hamilton.

Hamilton is ready to move on by getting his head on rightly focused to get better results later on the year.

Slovakia embarrass Wales on final Euro friendly 

Slovakia got the perfect boost needed before heading to Germany with a convincing 4-0 win over Wales on Sunday.

Both teams struggled with their final balls at the early stage of the game before Slovakia began their riot on the Welsh side at the stroke of halftime. Juraj Kucka and Bozenik scored a goal each to make it 2-0 before Ampadu’s own goal made it 3-0. Laszlo Benes rubbed salt to Welsh wound with the fourth to make it 4-0.

Wales have only managed to win 1out of 10 away games as pressure continue to rise on Wales manager Robert Page after an awful international break.

Angel Di Maria scored iconic goal to claim a narrow victory against Ecuador

The older the wine, the sweeter it becomes.  There is no word to describe Angel Di Maria relevance to Argentine national team as he scored from Romero assist to secure 1-0 win for Argentina against Ecuador.

Di Maria who was putting on the armband with team captain Lionel Messi siting on the bench, scored his 31st international goal on the 40th minute in Copa America warm up at soldier field.

He made way for Lionel Messi in the 56th minute but Argentina could not add more to the tally. The game was one of the two way up games scheduled to prepare Argentina for upcoming Copa America.

The world champion will face Guatemala in Maryland on Friday to wrap up preparations for Copa America which will be held at United States.

Enrick scored late to secure 3-2 win for Brazil against Mexico in a warm-up match

The teenager scored a beautiful header at stoppage time from a Vinicius Junior cross to make it three goals, three games for the Brazilian national team.

Andreas Pereira scored first from Sávio pass before Gabriel Martinelli doubled the lead at 54th minute. Mexico fought back with Julian Quinones goal in the 73rd minute while Martinez Ayala levelled up in the second minute after stoppage time. Endrick scored a flick on header at 96th minute to snatch the winner.

The former Palmeras player is set to join Real Madrid this summer having completed the transfer deal since December.

“I hope it is a wonderful story with Real Madrid and hope to be in Madrid all my life,” Endrick said.
