A youth led organisation, Youth Initiative for Civic Education and Accountability (YICEA), recently donated clothes to the needy in Kafukule and the event took place at Kafukule Youth Resource Center (KYRC) in the Area of Traditional Authority (T/A) Mtwalo,Mzimba District, Northern Region of Malawi.
According to the Country Director of YICEA, Mr. Albert Mkandawire, the organisation made this donation because it felt the need to support the elderly and orphans from the rural communities during this festive season as they lack basic necessities.
So far, the Youth Initiative for Civic Education and Accountability (YICEA), has donated to a total number of 200 beneficiaries including children, women and men in the Northern Region of Malawi.
Recently, another similar event took place in Area 1B, Nkholongo,Mzuzu City.
Speaking on behalf of government, Mr Nevel Mkandawire, who is the Child Protection Worker, thanked YICEA for the donation, and appealed for more support, in order to reach, more people, in the area.
YICEA donated the items with support from Mary Young from Scotland and God Cares Malawi Organisation.
The organisation is appealing from well-wishers across the globe to support this initiative by donating clothes so that a lot of needy people can be reached.
