THREE INDIAN NATIONALS KILLED SIKH SEPARATIST IN CANADA

Three India men have been arrested and prosecuted in a murder of Canadian Hardeep Singh Nijjar. The suspects are Karanpreet Singh, Kamalpreet Singh and Karan Brar.

Also, they are charged on a second count for using firearms around June 18th 2023, to commit first degree murder. Canadian authorities are currently investigating the link chain between suspects and the Indian government in committing the crime. Nijjar is a secessionist campaigning for a separate Sikh breakout of India which would be known as Khalistan and parts of Punjab states are involved. He was tragically gunned down by masked men last June outside a Sikh temple in Surrey, British Columbia.

In India, campaigning for Khalistan is forbidden by law due to sad memories left by some Sikh separatists haunting many. However, members abroad lean on freedom of speech to further their campaign and publicly demand secession from the India government.

The relations between India and Canada is broken for similar reasons. Hence, Canada’s promise to speed up investigations to trace Nijjar’s death in connection with the Indian government, but conspiracy, has not been specified, as of now.

SAUDI SENTENCED WOMEN’S RIGHT ACTIVIST TO JAIL

Manahel al-Otaibi, a women’s right activist was sentenced to jail by Saudi Arabia. The decision to imprison her was uncovered after United Nations Special Rapporteurs asked for information about her case.

The 29-year-old was accused of terrorist offenses and later apprehended in accordance with the law. Al-Otaibi solely believed in Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s promise for reforms of women’s right but was ironically arrested on 16th November 2022, for exercising her freedom. The case remained concealed since then.

Amnesty International strongly criticized the Saudi government for this decision, calling it cruel injustice. Other human rights groups are also calling for her release.

Otaibi’s sister, Fawazia Otaibi had to flee Saudi Arabia after been summoned for questioning in 2022. Perhaps, her dressing must have been the reason for the invitation.

There are reports that she was subjected to confinement and abuse in prison but authorities denied such allegation. Her charges are related to her choice of clothing and expression of her views online including calling on social media to end Saudi Arabia male guardianship system. Several women have reportedly been arrested for same offenses but swept under the carpet.

ISRAEL SET A WEEK AS DEADLINE FOR HOSTAGE DEAL OR GENOCIDE

In spite of Hamas statement of embracing the truce deal with positive spirit and sending its delegation to Cairo to reach agreement, Israel is yet to see Hamas withdraw from maximum demands.

Although mediators remain optimistic a deal will be struck, Israel officials do not treat hostage deal as impending.  Among top officials in Cairo is CIA Chief, Bill Burns, who went to Cairo through directive of Joe Biden. He said agreement is in progress and the ball is in Hamas court now.

Meanwhile, Hamas assures they are determined to secure an agreement in a way that fulfills Palestinians’ demands. Latest report says Hamas delegation will arrive in Egypt soon. As all parties try to sort things out, IDF analyse possible outcomes by speculating Hamas may not sign the deal proposal. Another angle theorize Hamas may agree to the first stage of the deal but with fewer hostages to be freed in exchange for Hamas fighters in Israel prison.

Anyways, Israel could be running out of patience and they remain prepared to launch Rafah operation in a weeks’ time if Hamas fail to take the extraordinary chances at offer.

STUDENTS’ PROTEST ON US CAMPUSES IS PRE-PLANNED

US prestigious university authorities have been living under immense pressure due to student protests sweeping US campuses on daily basis. Different measures have been applied to calm the crisis but all proved abortive. Rather, encampment and protests continue to gain momentum.

This does not look like a fluke, as investigative reports confirmed some of the organisers of anti-Israel protests on US campuses were trained for months by pro-Palestine activists. Before the start of the incident, students had held consultations with groups such as anti-Israel National students for justice in Palestine, veterans of previous campus protests and former Black Panthers. Students are also linked to NSJP X profile for advice and ideas.

The encampment which has also created unrest in US university campuses have been condemned by the authorities. Therefore, some protesters were arrested and others were dispersed. There were even situations whereby pro-Palestine and pro-Israel clashed which required security operative intervention. There may be no central organisation coordinating the anti-Israel encampment but they have set plans to pull an effective protest.

Additionally, investigation reveals “Resistance 101” training sessions that were scheduled and held at Columbia in collaboration with the Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network. The Columbia protesters also learned the act of fundraising which is vital to push on an effective protest movement.
