As one of its core founding areas of empowering women to be self-reliant, Mzati Youth Organisation trains women from Blantyre and the surrounding communities in sausage making at its main offices in Lunzu, Blantyre rural Malawi, every week on Wednesdays.
The organisation trains the women using locally available resources meaning to say they are lacking equipment to produce high quality sausage products in order to sell the produce in big retail shops and other areas within Malawi and across the borders.
Lawrence Kumpama who is the Executive Director of the Youth led organisation said that they do provide the training to the women so that they should be economically empowered. He continued by saying that the organisation is planning to train more women in various entrepreneurship skills but they do lack financial support and appealed to the international community for support in their programs.
So far,the organisation is also training women and young girls in tailoring and also on how to make reusable sanitary pads using very old machines.
