FOUR INDIVIDUALS ACCUSED AFTER REPORTED ABDUCTION AND BURGLARY IN BATHURST

Two individuals face charges related to a suspected kidnapping, while another two have been charged with an alleged burglary in the western region of the state.

At approximately 6:45 AM on Saturday, 2 November 2024, a 35-year-old man was reportedly abducted from a residence on Havenhand Way, Mitchell. A black Nissan Navara, carrying a woman and three men, was allegedly seen leaving the scene, while a fourth man reportedly walked away.

Authorities from the Chifley Police District responded to the incident and established a crime scene. The victim was reportedly assaulted before being released. Later, around 5:20 PM, police apprehended a 35-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman at a residence on Suttor Street, Windrayne, charging them with taking or detaining a person with intent to gain an advantage. Both were denied bail and were scheduled to appear in Dubbo Local Court on Sunday, 3 November 2024.

At approximately 9 PM, police responded to the same residence on Suttor Street due to reports of a break-in. Officers arrested four men, two of whom were later released. A 33-year-old man was charged with aggravated burglary and theft, while another 33-year-old man faced charges of aggravated burglary, theft, possession of prohibited drugs, and multiple counts of possession or attempted possession of restricted substances. Both were denied bail and are set to appear in Dubbo Local Court.

BRISBANE TRAINS RETURN TO SERVICE AFTER TRAILER STRIKE, DELAYS STILL POSSIBLE

Train services in Brisbane have resumed following an accident that caused disruptions for nearly eleven hours between Petrie and Northgate stations. Although trains are back on track, commuters are advised to expect delays during peak hours as Queensland Rail works to manage the backlog.

The incident occurred when a trailer collided with train power lines early on Monday, resulting in the suspension of several routes on the north side and significant delays. Deputy Premier Jarrod Bleijie issued a warning for commuters heading north from the city to consider alternative transport, as repairs to the train lines could take up to eight hours.

Mr Bleijie explained that a worker at the Beams Road level crossing accidentally hit the power lines, which disrupted the train system from Petrie. He described the situation as a regrettable accident. Services on the Caboolture, Redcliffe Peninsula, and Sunshine Coast lines were halted in both directions between Northgate and Petrie.

A Queensland Rail representative stated that train operations between Petrie and Northgate would recommence by 4:30 PM, but delays would persist throughout the afternoon peak. Rail replacement buses will continue to operate alongside train services to assist commuters. NUMEROUS CHARGES FILED FOLLOWING MAN’S ARREST IN AMBARVALE

A man was charged with multiple offences in Ambarvale on 3 November 2024. Detectives from Campbelltown City Police executed a search warrant at a residence on Dickens Road around 3 PM. The operation involved various police units, including the Highway Patrol and Tactical Operations Unit.

At approximately 4:50 PM, a 25-year-old man was seen leaping over nearby fences, prompting a search that led to his quick arrest. He was taken to Campbelltown Police Station, where authorities discovered a stolen Kawasaki motorcycle on the premises.

The man faces charges related to five outstanding warrants, encompassing ten offences, including driving while disqualified, using a vehicle without the owner’s consent, and aggravated break and enter. He was denied bail and is scheduled to appear in Campbelltown Local Court.

In a separate incident, a 36-year-old resident allegedly assaulted a man who was filming the police operation. This individual received a court attendance notice for common assault and is set to appear in court on 21 November 2024.

NEW ENGLAND POLICE DEPARTMENT ARREST TWO MEN ACCUSED OF WEAPONS AND ANIMAL CRUELTY VIOLATIONS

Two individuals have been charged after two dogs were reportedly shot in the western region of the state. At approximately 6:20 PM on 3 November 2024, a 41-year-old man engaged in a verbal dispute with another man at a property on Old Mill Road, Stannifer, believed to be an acquaintance.

Following the argument, the man allegedly exited with a shotgun and fired multiple rounds at the dogs, resulting in one fatality and one injury. He reportedly fled the scene in a Toyota SUV before law enforcement arrived, prompting the establishment of a crime scene and the initiation of an investigation.

Around 6:50 PM, officers from the New England Police District located the SUV on Elsmore Road, Elsmore. The man underwent a roadside breath test, which reportedly yielded a positive result. He was arrested and taken to Inverell Police Station, facing charges including common assault, animal cruelty, and firearm offences. He was denied bail and is set to appear in Parramatta Local Court.

Later, around 7 PM, a 67-year-old man was stopped by police as he left the property, and a firearm was allegedly discovered in his vehicle. He was arrested and taken to Inverell Police Station, charged with possessing an unregistered firearm. He was granted conditional bail and is scheduled to appear in Inverell Local Court on 23 January 2025.
