COMMUNITY FORUM ORGANISATION (COFO) WRAPS UP ITS MUSIC COMPETITION

On Friday, the Community Forum Organisation (COFO) which is one of the best leading youth – led organisations in the Southern Region of Malawi awarded the best performing upcoming young musicians in a competition which was dubbed ‘Artist Create Together (ACT)’ and the function was held at Nsanje Community Ground with a very large audience to witness the once in a life time occasion.

During the event, Tesyn Mulinde of Nalikombe Village who is a 26 year-old man won the first price in the competition and was awarded money amounting to MK150,000.00 ($86.59) and Wellington Chilenje who is 19 years old from Nanthenje Village was in the second place and received MK100,000.00 ($57.73) while John Maganizo a 32 year-old man from Ganamba Village finished in the third place and was awarded money amounting to MK75,000.00 ($43.30) respectively.

Community Forum was carrying out the Artist Create Together (ACT) project with funding from the Copyright Fund in the districts of Chikwawa and Nsanje with the aim of uncovering the hidden music talent of the youth from the rural communities.
