The People First Foundation (PFF) – A Community Centred Charity Institution

On Saturday April 26 2025, a group of highly esteemed and dedicated young volunteers came together to build on their passion for community development and also to serve and transform lives of the less privileged community members through different charity works all from within Mzuzu City.

For the first time the volunteers gathered together at the Chris Leisure Centre near Katoto Netball Court to attend a meeting for a newly registered youth led organisation called ‘People First Foundation (PFF)’ .

The main agenda of the first meeting was to elect duty bearers.

The elected duty bearers will be able to lead in facilitating the activities of the charity institution as it is preparing for its grand launch ceremony in the next coming few weeks and also the commencing of its intended activities within a three (3) month period.

This meeting was led by Mr. Lumbani Kaunda who is the Founder and Executive Director of the People First Foundation (PFF) charitable organisation.

According to the Executive Director, the foundation has been structured into three (3) main segments namely :

1. Education,
2. Charity and
3. Human Rights

This has been drawn through inspiration from well known established institutions such as the

Youth and Society (YAS),

The Church Of Central African Presbyterian’s  (CCAP) of the Livingstonia Synods Development arm known as Church and Society

and also from the Development Aid From People To People (DAPP) just to mention a few.

The organisation has ten (10) objectives and some of these include:

*promoting and protecting the fundamental Human Rights,

*expanding access to quality education and providing humanitarian aid to the vulnerable communities

*and also to foster peace,

*sustainable livelihoods

*and create strong partnerships with the targeted communities for lasting impacts.

So far,over thirty (30) people have expressed more interest to join the foundation in order to serve the less privileged communities using their skills they have through volunteering.
