The Youth Initiative for Civic Education and Accountability (YICEA) with funding from Ulalo Organisation which is one of the leading youths – led organisations in the Northern Region of Malawi, distributed various agriculture items to Thandeka primary school under the project called ‘school feeding program’.

Speaking during the event, Group Village Headman Mulumuzana (GVH) Thandeka Soko, thanked the Youth Initiative for Civic Education and Accountability (YICEA) organisation for providing the much needed support that will not only increase the primary school learners attendance but also improve their nutrition status and performance of the targeted beneficiaries.
While taking his turn, the Primary Education Advisor (PEA), Mr. Ndirekereni Mwanza commended the Organisation for choosing Thandeka citing that it has been neglected for so long in terms of various school feeding programs.
The committee has pledged to work tirelessly by ensuring that crops are planted in good time on the 1.5 acres available land.
A total of thirteen participants graced the occasion from different school based committees which included Mother Groups, School Management Committees (SMC) and Parents Teacher Association (PTA), Traditional Structures (Village Development Committees) and also Stakeholders (PEA) attended the meeting.
The Organisation distributed various items namely: bags of fertilizers (NPK and UREA), Maize seeds (SC665) and also Soya Bean seeds (SC serenade) respectively.
This project will run for three (3) consecutive years with funding from Ulalo and it is also being implemented in the primary schools of Katowa and Chilanganombo in Rukuru Zone Mzimba North Education Division Malawi.
