BIDEN CAST JAPAN, RUSSIA AND CHINA AS “XENOPHOBIC”

US President, Joe Biden proclaimed Japan as “xenophobic” during a fundraiser event at Washington, D.C. This happened after US has glorified their alliance at state dinner. Sources reported the remark is made off camera though. Biden made a strong argument that Japan, India, Russia and by extension China would have a rapid growing economy if they relax their immigration policies.

The US President explained further that the US is in the forefront of economic growth because immigrants are allowed into US to build the workforce. He said “we have critically analysed why other countries like India, Japan, Russia and China struggle with their economy? Because they are xenophobic”.

Substantially, US rely on Japan alliance to counterweight China’s growing world power. Biden currently faces political pressure from the Republicans over his immigration policies.

NETANYAHU SURE OF VICTORY IN NEXT ELECTION

As things stand, the odds favour Netanyahu to become victorious in the upcoming elections and retain his position. His body language shows he’s committed to rerun and he emphasised the need to continue leading the country after the next election despite facing strong criticism for the October 7 invasion.

The PM believes he remains the best candidate to lead the country during this war period which could last for many years. Then, he is certain he’ll win the election in the coming months. It is believed none of the other potential prime ministerial candidates can come close to him.

Earlier this week, Netanyahu and his cabinet received certificate of excellence from the Biden administration referencing the offer put on the table by Israel as “extraordinarily generous.”

As long as Israel is supported by US, Netanyahu is less concerned with anti-Israel criticism from protesters. He believes if US could give full legitimacy to the Israel proposal, he can’t be expected to be more generous in his offer.

TURKEY STOPS TRADING WITH ISRAEL

Turkey suspends trading with Israel amid ceasefire negotiation. This was confirmed by Turkey President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Thursday. The decision is taken to make Israel agree to ceasefire and increase chances of humanitarian aid into Gaza. In the long run, this may worsen relations between the two countries.

Turkey is one of the few Arab majority nations that maintains a close relationship with Israel regardless of recurrent hostility between Israel and other Muslim countries. Erdogan says he’s not concerned with conflict history but want peace to reign in the region. This time, they announced they are restricting exports to Israel to quicken the truce agreement.

Netanyahu is disappointed Turkey didn’t keep to the promise made in April by recognising Israel as both sides weigh the consequences of the broken relation. Meanwhile, Erdogan believe strongly they are doing the right thing to force peace back into the region.

ISRAEL, HEZBOLLAH CLOSING DEAL TO END BORDER TENSIONS

Since Israel launched Gaza operation, Hezbollah and Israel have being exchanging fire attacks, although air strike have been limited to border areas. Both countries are intensifying efforts to infrastructural areas which could lead to war.

US is playing a key role to broker the deal which could see Hezbollah retreat from the border with Israel to the north of Litani River. This deal is similar to UN’s Security Council Resolution 1701 which ended the 2006 war between the two.

Hezbollah is embracing the agreement provided Israel end the war on Gaza. The tensions has displaced some Israeli civilians who need to return to their homes in the northern communities.

RAFAH ASSAULT COULD LEAD TO GENOCIDE

A full scale military operation on Rafah will unleash blood birth on Palestinians. Rafah currently shelter 1.2 million Palestinians. Therefore, if deal is not implemented sooner, the world is about to witness mass murder.

The World Health Organisation’s Director General, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus warns of possible consequences. Rafah operation will increase mortality and morbidity which the health sector will not be able to cope with.

The only three hospitals that partially operate in Rafah would not be accessible for patients and humanitarian package may be out of reach. There will be large numbers of displacement, unavailability of foods which could lead to starvation and wide spread of disease.

WHO wants all stumbling block to agreement be removed and ceasefire take immediate effect to restore safety.
