Netanyahu is enduring extensive protests in major cities of Israel. The release of hostage video purportedly pleading for release by Hamas on Saturday has energized Israelis on massive marches nationwide.

Thousands of protesters rally in Jerusalem for hostage deal to be secured. The protest appears to unite hostage families and anti-government protesters on Sunday. Motorists also experienced difficulties in Tel-Aviv with major highways blocked by numbers of protesters. At the end, the strong protest seemingly ended with speeches at the top of Ben Yehuda Street. In same plan to press deeper, protesters gathered near Azrieli Mall chanting “halas”(enough) to vent their anger against government decisions. Eventually, a clash erupted between protesters and police which led to the brief detain of Ayala Metzger, a daughter to a hostage Yoram Metzger.

In the meantime, negotiation for truce deal is ongoing in Egypt. Israel delegation is invited to join Hamas leaders to quicken the deal process while US Secretary of States, Blinken headed to the Middle East for the 7th visit since October to discuss with other allies. Blinken says he hopes Hamas makes the right decision on an “extra-ordinarily generous“ truce and hostage deal. Everything looks set for cease fire with Biden, Netanyahu stating that Hamas says there are no major issues with the latest hostage deal draft.

Meanwhile, four people were killed in latest Israeli air strike on an apartment in the Tal al-Sultan neighbourhood leaving four Palestinians dead. Contrarily, there was no record of injury as Hamas fired more than 20 rockets from Lebanon at Kiryat Shmona area, in the Northern District of Israel.

Decisively, several European states are expected to recognise Palestinian Statehood by the end of May 2024, EU Foreign Policy Chief, Josep Borrell stated at the World Economic Forum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Hopefully, we are approaching the end of the Israel war on Hamas and the world could see peace reign in Gaza.
