Chikwawa Police Youth Club in collaboration with other youth from different Youth Clubs from Chikwawa District in the Southern Region of Malawi participated in a National Clean Up Day which is observed on the second Friday of every month.

National Clean Up Day is organised by The Ministry of Local Government, Unity and Culture was aimed at maintaining hygienic practices by ensuring that some of the frequently visited areas are always clean.
The exercise which was led by the Chikwawa District Youth Officer, Mr. Mac_Nell Shire, commended the youths on the good work they are doing and also appealed to more youths in the district to be participating in voluntary works as this one but also be actively involved in community social investment projects as a way of giving back for community sustainability in the district.
During the event the youth managed to clean the Chikwawa main market, hospitals, government offices, roads and schools, but also the youths removed all wastes, and also dug pit latrines.
This day is observed in every district across Malawi.
