THE CAR BUSINESS

Malawi is one of the countries in the world that has a high rate of unemployment amongst the youth despite that each and every year institutions of higher learning produce a lot of young people that have graduated in different fields of study with various skills.

The Tonse Alliance Administration during the 2020 fresh presidential elections campaign promised the youth in Malawi that once voted into power it will create one million jobs for the youth and also provide loans to the Malawian youth through the National Economic Empowerment Fund (NEEF) so that they should start small scale businesses in various areas of interest and the loans will be repaid with a fixed interest.

As a result a lot of young people are trying their level best to raise money on their own to start various kinds of small scale businesses so that they can be able to earn something and support themselves and the most notable small scale business that is being run in Malawi especially in the northern region amongst the youth is the car wash business.

Most of the car wash businesses are being conducted along the main road within the city of Mzuzu but also they are all over the city and with just a few plastic buckets of water the youth are making a lot of money out of it.

Those who have started earlier have reached to the extent of buying modern equipment such as a Hoover, Watertank and a Water pump which they use for the business.

Currently washing one car costs MK1,500 which is equivalent to USD 2.

On 26^th September,Sunday afternoon the Northern Region Volleyball League (NRVL) tournament continued with two different games that were played at Katoto volleyball court between Moyale Troopers vs Chibavi Smashers and also that of Katoto Trickers vs Eagle Crawls.

The league is being sponsored by Honourable Jappie Mhango who is the Member of Parliament for Rumphi (MP) and also the President of Malawi Olympic Committee (MOC).

Female Legislators Wear Uniforms in support of girl child education

In the Capital City of Malawi, Lilongwe, some female Members of Parliament came wearing a school uniform in support of efforts aimed at promoting girl child education.

The Lawmakers are in the 7^th and final week of deliberations for this year’s National Budget meeting of the National Assembly and Parliament waved Standing Order 204 to allow the legislators to dress in that way.

The President of the Republic of Malawi Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera

This is the official motorcade of The President of the Republic of Malawi Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera as he is in the Northern Region of Malawi doing official duties. He has been in the Northern Malawi since Friday (7^th  May 2021).

The video clip shows the Presidential Motorcade passing along the M1 road on its way to Mchengautuba area where the president launched the SEED Urban classrooms project at Mchengautuba Community Day Secondary School in Mzuzu and the project is being funded by the US government.

The rural SEED program will see construction of 200 new Community Day Secondary Schools across Malawi.

The only beautiful road in the Northern Region of Malawi

It is the Lakeshore road as known as the M5 or Nkhata Bay road. This road leads to other parts of the country but notably the Nkhata Bay district where part of Lake Malawi is found,the pictures below show some of its parts

The Northern region is always evergreen

Despite the heavy rains experienced over the past few days in the Northern Region of Malawi this has not made people to avoid conducting their usual day to day small scale businesses in various communities.
