DUBOIS POISED FOR JOSHUA AFTER DEFEATING HRGOVIC

Daniel Dubois beats Filip Hrgovic in IBF interim heavyweight clash to take a step towards heavyweight title bout.

The British boxer stopped Hrgovic in the eighth round in Riyadh on Sunday. Hrgovic’s bleeding was unstoppable from a cut on the eye before referee John Latham intervened and ended the fight 57 seconds into the round.

The win earns Dubois an interim belt which could see him become a world champion if Oleksandr Usyk is stripped off his belt by the sanctioning body.

The 26-year old could also be in line to face Anthony Joshua who was also present at the night. Dubois look ready for AJ and he said at a post-fight interview “I’ve heard the next opponent will be AJ, so bring it on.”

SWIATEK CRUISES TO THE FRENCH OPEN QUARTERS

World number one Iga Natalia Świątek beat Anastasia Potapova in 40 minutes to reach French open quarter finals.

The 23-year old continued her red hot form with a 6-0, 6-0 win over her junior rival. Potapova was meeting Świątek for the first time in her professional career but was totally dominated by Świątek who didn’t allow her any breathing space.

Świątek went on to extend her winning streak on clay to 16 with a resounding quickest win of her career. She’ll face Markéta Šimková at the ongoing French open in the quarter finals.

VAR SAVED THE BLUSHES OF INTER-MIAMI TO SAVAGE A DRAW

Inter-Miami needed VAR intervention to rescue them a point as they were about to lose for the second time in a week.

JOSE MOURINHO BECOMES THE NEW MANAGER OF FENERBAHCE

The special one arrived in Istanbul on Sunday ahead of his unveiling as the manager of Fenerbahçe.

Fenerbahçe fans received the news of his move through a post on X on Saturday while he was acting as a pundit at Wembley in the Champions League final.

The Portuguese has been linked to Qatari and the Saudi league after his sacking as Roma coach in January.

“Good evening Fenerbahçe fans, see you tomorrow at Kadıköy and let’s start our journey together,” Mourinho announced.
