Chitsanzo Youth Support Organisation (CHIYOSO) under the programme called Gender Action Learning Systems (GALS) has started yielding positive results after one of its team members’ was trained as a champion last year and they were requested to develop an action plan based on GALS tools and for CHIYOSO to come up with a vision journey.

In its vision journey, CHIYOSO planned to start a soap manufacturing company, and by December last year it started making and producing herbal and general soap.
According to the Executive Director of CHIYOSO the products are supplied to various supermarkets and shops and the plan is for 3 years with three milestones which includes branding, packaging, registration with Register General and to be certified with the Malawi Bureau of Standards.
The Soap Tablets
At the moment, the organisation has reached its first milestone, which was set to be achieved in the first year but has been achieved in about a quick four (4) months.
In addition to their range of products, CHIYOSO produces ointments for joint pains, tablet soap, bar soap, dish washing and Jerry and Chill Ointment.

CHIYOSO is now working on branding its products, boosting its markets, increasing production and also getting certified by the Malawi Bureau of Standards, among others.
CHIYOSO is also appealing to donors and other well-wishers such as individuals willing to partner with this project.
