WOMEN AFFAIRS CONDEMN MASS WEDDING OF ORPHANS IN NIGERIA
There is public outrage against wedding plan for 100 orphans in Niger state, Nigeria.
These orphans lost their relations to attack by unknown gunmen. The wedding which is sponsored by Abdul Malik Sakindaji is slated for 24th of this month before the sponsor withdrew from the ceremony due to criticism.
Nigerians have being expressing their concerns over the age of the girls and their compliance to the wedding. Hence, human rights have also launched petitions against the event.
Women Affairs Minister, Uju Kennedy- Ohanenye condemned the plan and seeks court action to stop the ceremony.

PM SONKO ANNOYED WITH THE STAY OF FRENCH TROOPS IN SENEGAL
Senegalese Prime Minister, Ousmane Sonko is irked by the lasting stay of French troops in Senegal 60 years after independence.
He queried the impact of the French military in a sovereign state like Senegal. He reiterated Senegal needs to be in control of its own state which could not happen with the stay of French troops.
France has almost 350 troops in Senegal mounting different bases. With the emergence of Sonko and Diomaye, the days of French troops in Senegal appear numbered.
Significantly, Sonko promised to strengthen ties with Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger who have successfully sent out French troops and turned Russia allies.

GABON REJECT ALLEGATION ON EXCRUCIATING BONGO’S FAMILY
Gabonese military government have rejected accusation by dislodged president Ali Bongo’s lawyer that his wife and eldest son were subjected to torture.
The lawyer said Ali Bongo and his other two sons have gone on a hunger strike to protest against the torment. Hence, he has reported the case to Paris Judicial Court.
Meanwhile, the government spokesperson, Laurence Ndong said the allegations were to slander and damage Gabon’s image.
Bongo led Gabon since 2009 after succeeding his father before he was dislodged by military coup in August last year.

RESCUE TEAM PULLED OUT 29 WORKERS FROM COLLAPSED BUILDING IN SA
After 9 days of thorough searching efforts, 33 construction workers have been confirmed dead and 29 were pulled out of the debris while 19 are still missing.
The rescue team have ended their service on the site of five-story building that collapsed in George on 6 May,
Authorities said the building will be handed to investigators to detect the cause of the breakdown in order to prevent future occurrence.
President Ramaphosa promised to compensate the victims as soon as the investigation is completed.

GOVERNOR ORDER CIVILIANS TO DEFEND THEMSELVES AND THEIR STATE AGAINST RSF
The civilians in Sudan have been ordered to take up arms and defend themselves against the attack of paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) instead of fleeing the state.
Clashes between RSF and Sudanese Army have intensified over who is going to control the City of El-Fashir. Since the clash started on May 10, more than 60 people have died and hundreds injured while others fled the city.
The Governor of Darfur, Mr Minnawi said “we declare general alert and defend the innocent lives and properties”.
Sudan civil war began in April last year and all efforts by mediators to broker the war into stoppage failed to materialize.
