QUEEN MARY SHINES IN BOLD SWIMSUIT AT BALMORAL BEACH, WHILE KING FREDERIK HUNTS ON AFFAIR ANNIVERSARY
Queen Mary of Denmark drew attention at Balmoral Beach, flaunting a stunning swimsuit while enjoying the waves with friends, marking a year since her husband’s rumoured affair. The Australian-born royal made a discreet visit to Sydney with her youngest daughter, Princess Josephine, to reconnect with family and friends.
Although Mary, 52, frequently returns to Australia, this trip is her first since she and King Frederik ascended to the Danish throne in January. On Wednesday, she was spotted walking through Bronte in eastern Sydney, dressed casually in black shorts, a cap, and a long-sleeve top, taking in the beautiful scenery with her 13-year-old daughter and bridesmaid Amber Petty.
The following day, Queen Mary was seen at Balmoral Beach, wearing a fitted rose-pink swimsuit that highlighted her athletic physique. The Danish royal appeared cheerful and at ease as she swam with a friend and then sunbathed with a group, according to the Daily Mail Australia. Photos also revealed that Mary was not wearing her wedding ring, although it is presumed her royal jewels were stored safely elsewhere.
Notably, Mary’s husband was absent during her visit, a year after the King was photographed enjoying a night out with Mexican socialite Genoveva Casanova, which stirred controversy within the Danish monarchy. Last October, Lecturas magazine published images of the duo in Madrid, capturing them visiting an art museum, strolling in a park, and dining while enjoying flamenco dancing.

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT CRITICISED AS CONCERNS RISE OVER AUSTRALIA’S READINESS FOR MAJOR CONFLICT FOLLOWING MISSILE ANNOUNCEMENT
John Anderson, the former Deputy Prime Minister, criticised the federal government for being unprepared for potential major conflicts, stating they are “asleep at the wheel.” The Albanese administration plans to invest $21 billion over the next ten years to develop domestic missile and munitions manufacturing.
French arms company Thales has been chosen to establish the domestic production of 155mm Mc795 artillery ammunition, aiming for 15,000 units annually by 2028. Defence Industry Minister Pat Conroy voiced concerns about Chinese military activities in the Indo-Pacific, emphasising the urgency of increasing missile production in light of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
John Anderson stressed that the situation in Ukraine demonstrated the likelihood of major power conflicts. He pointed out that despite warnings from politicians about potential threats, the government has delayed action on missile production.
He questioned why, after five years of planning, the nation is still not prepared for urgent defence needs. Anderson concluded that while Australians can be formidable in conflict, the current state of preparedness is lacking.

GREATER SYDNEY FACES ‘IMMINENT WASTE CRISIS’ AS LANDFILL CAPACITY EXPECTED TO BE EXHAUSTED BY 2030; NSW GOVERNMENT URGES IMMEDIATE ACTION
Sydneysiders may face a halt in red rubbish bin collections within six years due to diminishing landfill space, prompting the state government to call for immediate action. Earlier this week, officials warned that Greater Sydney is nearing a waste crisis, with landfill capacity expected to be depleted by 2030.
Environment Minister Penny Sharpe plans to address this concerning outlook with industry leaders and environmental advocates at the NSW Circular Economy Summit. The government indicated that both households and businesses might incur significantly higher waste management expenses if innovative rubbish and recycling methods aren’t promptly adopted.
If the current trend persists, residents may have to pay for their waste disposal in regional areas or other states, as the collection of red bins could become unfeasible. The government has identified the development of essential waste infrastructure and reducing landfill waste as crucial areas for addressing the crisis.
Additionally, strategies to enhance recycling rates, such as eliminating plastics from circulation and tackling contamination issues like food packaging chemicals, will be examined. Minister Sharpe noted that previous governmental inaction has exacerbated the rubbish dilemma, emphasising the urgent need for decisive measures.

MENINGOCOCCAL INFECTIONS RISING AS ADELAIDE WOMAN IN HER 30S ADMITTED TO HOSPITAL IN CRITICAL STATE
A woman in her 30s from Adelaide has been hospitalised due to invasive meningococcal disease as South Australia sees a rise in cases. SA Health reported that the identified strain is serogroup B. Authorities have traced several individuals who were in contact with her, advising five to take preventive antibiotics to stop further spread.
Symptoms of this illness include headaches, fever, vomiting, neck stiffness, and sensitivity to light. A skin rash often appears, beginning as small red or purple spots that can develop into larger bruise-like marks. In advanced stages, patients may experience confusion and shock.
The disease typically spreads through respiratory secretions like saliva, requiring “close and prolonged contact” with an infected individual, as noted by NSW Health. It is crucial to seek medical attention promptly, as the disease can escalate quickly.
Young children are particularly vulnerable, showing signs of distress, difficulty waking, and refusal to eat. Immediate medical care is essential to address the potential severity of the illness.
